We’re off!! Heading north, our first night’s stop was a small town called Downham Market and we stayed at the Castle hotel. Vi enjoyed her kippers for brekkie the next morning
Next stop- Kings Lynn- about 100 kms north of London
King’s Lynn was one of England’s most important ports from as early as the 12th century this maritime past is still very much in evidence today. The town’s heritage is reflected in an amazing array of historic building none more so than Kings Lynn Minster founded in 1101.
Then, on our way to Oswaldtwistle to visit Ian Carter, George’s cousin we drove through Peak National park
Fabulous stone houses nestled into the rock face, even with their very own fish n chip shop. Of course, we had to stop for some chips😋
